38 Years of Conrad
Conrad turned 38 this month, which in an industry that seems to reinvent itself every few years is definitely worth marking.
When David Sitwell founded the business in 1988, advertising looked very different. Newspapers ruled the media landscape, teletext was still a thing, and a good lunch went a long way (although some things remain). Since then we’ve seen the rise of digital, social, data and now AI. Channels have come and gone, and whole new disciplines have appeared along the way.
What hasn’t really changed is what makes a great advertising or marketing business: talented people who care about their clients and the work they do.
That has always been at the heart of Conrad. Our role is to back good people, give them the support and resources they need, and let them get on with doing their best work.
You can see that across the group today. Each of our agencies has its own name, culture and identity, and that independence matters. But they are also stronger for being part of something bigger.
So thank you to our agency leaders and their teams, to the clients who put their trust in them, and to everyone who has played a part in shaping Conrad over the last 38 years.
We’re just as ambitious today as we were when David (right) started the business.
Here’s to what comes next.
